Fear

I couldn't believe what I was seeing!  My wife was in Manhattan, my mother was in Brooklyn, my daughter was freaking because her mother works  at Dulles Airport outside of  DC.  Someone was attacking my family.  By now, everyone was in my office, because they had all chosen CNN and couldn't get through.  BBC in London, was showing us our city under attack in real time on my computer.  It was too surrealistic to describe.  I tried calling my wife, no answer, so I emailed her.  I couldn't get through by phone to my mom in Brooklyn.  Emails were flying between my wife and I.  She didn't get it.  She was still working.  Actually so was I.  In my stupor, getting a stupid task accomplished became my overwhelming response.   I was not going to let this stop America.  I had no gun, I had only my job, and all of a sudden, it was so important. My daughter was IM'ing her mom in MD, telling her not to go to work.  I was emailing my wife  to go to my friends apartment on 65th street.  I figured that Grand Central Station could be the next target.  I didn't want her to go there.  She was emailing that she couldn't leave the office.  I was worried for her, but I didn't really get the scope of it all yet.  Then the unthinkable.
